Hey guys, For a number of weeks, I have been trying to get my JR programmer V2 show up, and when it does, work with JR programmer.
I got it working on my first try, where it just worked when I plugged in the Nand cables and I found out what I thought was a OPUS turned out to be a XENON. So now I bought a FALCON, and have it awaiting its RGH2 at the latest dash, but my JR Programmer is giving me pain. Plugging it in by itself does not show up most times on 3 Win10 pc's and one windows 7 laptop. I tried a live USB version of XP, but I didn't get that working. On most machines, it doesn't even show up in the device manager. I have been and will continue to try things, with drivers and whatnot, but I am lost at the moment.
By the way, its stuck in programming mode, red LED, and I have no idea how to program it. Flipping both switches does nothing, and even after resetting and unplugging overnight, it's still in programming. If anyone could help me here, I would much appreciate it. I have looked and seen what others suggested, and no cables or different ports work:( • • • • •. I had the same issue and almost lost my mind trying to get it to work. Forget the Windows 10 PCs if it gets stuck in bootloader mode (red LED). When I had that issue, plugging it into my laptop running Windows 10 it would show up in device manager as a 'USB Input Device' instead of the JR Programmer (drivers were already installed).
JRunner would not detect it in bootloader mode. On the same laptop but in Windows 7, JRunner would show 'bootloader mode' in the text console and from there, I could reprogram the JR Programmer with the hex firmware file to fix it. Also, make sure Windows is running in test mode: Start > cmd > right-click > Run as Administrator bcdedit /set testsigning on bcdedit /set nointegritychecks on Reboot • • • • • •.
It doesn't need to be connected to the Xbox 360 motherboard. The official drivers are unsigned, which is why you need to be in test mode, to install the unsigned drivers. When you see the 'Unknown Device' in Device Manager, right-click on 'Unknown Device' and try to install drivers, saying you have the drivers. Select this folder: (download and extract) If those don't work, you can try installing these instead: If you're still having issues after trying all that, maybe try reflashing the JR Programmer's firmware. Disconnect the JR Programmer, intentionally switch it to bootloader mode, plug it back in, then start up JRunner and update the Programmer with PICFLASH_E_1_0_5-JRP-V2.HEX using JRunner • • • • • • •. Put it into bootloader mode, top switch shouldn't matter.
The top switch, when set to the left is for reading/writing to the NAND (lower port on the right). The top switch set to the right (xsvf) is for reading/writing to an attached Coolrunner glitch chip via the upper port on the right). If you put it into bootloader mode and open JRunner, the text console should show Bootloader Mode Enabled. If you don't see it, try hitting the reset button to the left of the bootloader switch and check the text console again. If you can get the text console in JRunner to show bootloader enabled, you can then reprogram the JR Programmer.
