Gbdoc, You are welcome, and thanks for your report. I am pleased to see that all went well.
There may be a few rare cases in which, having installed the TechTool Pro 9.6.1 application, launched it, and allowed it to install the TechTool Protection system preferences pane, the pane opens with none of the features showing. The work-around is to click the Run button, close the TechTool Protection system preferences pane, make sure that System Preferences is quit, and then re-open the TechTool Protection system preferences pane. It should appear properly then, configured as it was in your installation of TechTool Pro 9.5.3. You do not address having to pay for something that I should have already been able to use.I’m not usually in the defense business, but You mistakenly *thought* you should already be able to use. You sent away for those great Weber carbs you’d heard about (pricey, but great reviews). But when you tried to install them on your new BMW, you found out your Beemer had fuel injection (never really read the specs before, or looked under the hood).
Weber would unlikely refund your money, might perhaps offer you something to soup up your FI with only an incremental charge, but they wouldn’t have to, and they would surely direct your attention to the fact that those carbs, as advertised, can only replace *carbs*, not FI (duh). You’re angry, but you’ve got only yourself to blame. Look in the mirror, growl, and bite the bullet. This paid upgrade 'business' can be annoying to some, but for myself, I did not mind paying for the V9.6.1 upgrade.

Tech Tool Pro is just too good of a product, and I suspect a lot of time and effort went into developing the High Sierra version. But back to my original post above, earlier today. I would really like to see reports from folks here about High Sierra itself, and of course, how V9.6.1 of Tech Tool Pro performs with High Sierra. I am possibly thinking of upgrading later on this week, but would still like to see if there are any more bugs in V10.13.2 of High Sierra. I bought a new iMac in September and ordered TechTool Pro on September 13th. At that time, I didn't know that it wouldn't work with High Sierra, my fault for not researching it. Instead of trying to return it I patiently waited for the fix and thought for sure I wouldn't be charged because I just bought it.
Most companies have a good will grace period. I just paid again yesterday for the update, but disappointed there is no grace period.
Here's my pay record. In situations like mine I think a free upgrade or no more than $9.99 is appropriate.
If the company considers a refund or discount it is appreciated. TechTool Pro 9.6 Order Date: 10.
